Bakugu Eucalyptus Mother Garden located in Ndese Mukono
Overview: For vegetatively propagated crops such as coffee, eucalyptus, citrus, avocado, etc, the quality of seedlings depend as much on the quality of the starting planting material. Therefore, to control the quality of final nursery products, Bakugu operates its own mother gardens from which starting planting materials are produced. Our eucalyptus and coffee mother gardens also supplies high quality scions for small scale nursery operators. Please contact us if you are interested in buying.
3. Forestry Project
Pine seedlings in the nursery ready for planting.
Overview: Through our Joint-venture farming partnerships, Bagritech envisions being an active partner in establishment of agricultural tree estates. We also initiated a conversation with the government of Uganda to lease land and grow our own trees. The tree species for the forestry project will include Eucalyptus, Pine Carabea and Pualownia species. Our missions is to contribute to environmental and ecosystems conservation and also offer a sustainable source of timber to the growing demand within the East- African region.
4. Hass and Fuerte Avocado production
Overview
Our company aggregates and exports ‘GAP’ certified avocado fruits to Europe and Asia by taking a holistic approach along the Hass and Fuerte avocado value chain. This involves establishing a nucleus farm on 100 acres and working with farmers (out-growers) to establish an additional 2000 acres to ensure an annual production of 11000 tons of first class organic avocado fruits for export.
